HSBC Savings Bank Philippines Failed To Encash Properly Funded Checks

Taiwanese businessmen failed to withdraw a properly funded and endorsed check. Only in HSBC Philippines that customers needs to notify the bank 2 days in advance for them to get their hard earned money!

Excerpts from the article:

"Earlier, before coming to Manila they opened an account with HSBC in Hong Kong and sent the money to HSBC here through telegraphic transfer.

But what more did the customers want from the bank? HSBC Savings said, okay, it was their money, and they had all the right to withdraw it.

But in so many abrasive words that the customers only deserved, HSBC Savings simply informed them that the bank could not service their withdrawal.

Again, they were just customers. They do not even own the bank, okay?

HSBC Savings already recognized that the checks were properly endorsed and funded. The bank even asked for and got proper identification from the withdrawing party.

But didn’t the customers know they have to notify the bank at least two days in advance? Even for a measly P700,000? Well, according to the bank, even for less!

The last time I checked, the central bank has no such stupid at-least-two-days'-notice rule because, in banking, a funded check is always as good as cash.

That’s why, here, we admire a foreign bank like HSBC that can make its own rules, as it was said to have done in the past to corner the T-bill and T-note business."

In summary, HSBC Savings Bank prevented their customers from encashing a properly funded check. The customers opened an account in hsbc hk and sent the money through telegraphic transfer to HSBC Savings Bank in the pH, but for some reason HSBC Philippines stopped them from getting their moent. They made up a stupid two-days notice rule and also have them travel to a differnet bank branch!

HSBC Philippines suck indeed my friend!

HSBC Savings Bank service is below par compared to HSBC banks in other countries. I've been a depositor with this bank for over 10 years and I've just closed my account due to reason that they're just deducting money of 400pesos every month without informing its depositor for not maintaining 25,000 pesos into the account. They will just rob you of your hard-earned money just like that. They are actually like thieves pretending to be a prestigious bank. They are ruining the credibility of other HSBC banks abroad.
Beware of this bank!
